Bone Health Program (osteoporosis)

 

Frank Singer, M.D. Frank Singer, M.D. specializes in the treatment of osteoporosis. He received his medical degree from the University of the East Medical School and completed his residency at Trenton Affiliated Hospitals and fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Singer helps women develop a preventive treatment plan in coordination with their doctor.
Marcie Nowack Marcie Nowack is an exercise physiologist and helps women adopt a safe and effective fitness regimen to build strength and flexibility in order to reduce the risk of falls and to minimize the ill-effects of osteoporosis.

 

Incontinence Program

 

Aileen M.K. Yee, M.D Aileen M.K. Yee, M.D. is a board certified OB/GYN, and specializes in evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic prolapse, fecal incontinence and minimally invasive surgery. She received her medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine and completed her fellowship at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and University of Maryland.
Shawna Brizzolara, M.D. Shawna Brizzolara, M.D. is a board certified OB/GYN and has received specialized training in urogynecology for the treatment of incontinence and other pelvic support problems. She received her medical degree from the University of California, Davis and completed her residency at the University of Hawai‘i.
Steven Minaglia, M.D. Steven Minaglia, M.D., FACS, FACOG is a board certified OB/GYN, and completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine & reconstructive surgery at USC. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery to treat pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary and fecal incontinence. He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and
completed his residency at USC.
Ian Oyama, M.D. Ian Oyama, M.D. is a board certified OB/GYN and specializes in neuromodulation for urinary dysfunction, and minimally invasive surgery for pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. He completed medical school and residency at the University of Hawai‘i, and fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at
UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, NJ.
Audrey Yoneshige Audrey Yoneshige, P.T. assists incontinent patients to strengthen their pelvic muscles to enhance function, and helps women recover following surgery. Audrey received her physical therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University.

 

Women's Counseling

 

Bart Pillen Bart Pillen, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and specializes in women’s health issues and concerns. He received his doctorate degree from DePaul University in Illinois.
Lori Murayama-Sung Lori Murayama-Sung, M.D. received her medical degree in psychiatry and completed her residency at the University of Hawai‘i. She has a special interest in women’s health and geriatrics, and sees patients at Kapi‘olani’s women’s specialty centers.

Aesthetics Program

 

Robert W. Schulz Robert W. Schulz, M.D. is board certified in plastic surgery. He received his medical degree from George Washington University and completed his residencies at the University of Hawai‘i (General Surgery), and Cronin and Brauer Clinic (Plastic Surgery). He specializes in cosmetic and breast surgery.
Todd H. Mirzai

Todd H. Mirzai, M.D. was raised on Maui. He received his medical degree from Cornell University College, NY. He completed his general surgery training at the University of Hawai‘i and plastic surgery training at Loma
Linda University Medical Center, CA. Dr. Mirzai specializes in surgical and non-surgical techniques to enhance appearance and reduce signs of aging.

 

Healthy Cooking & Nutrition

 

Stephen Bradley Stephen Bradley, M.D. is a bariatric medicine specialist and received his medical degree from the University of Bologna in Italy. He is also a board certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Bradley is also a trained chef. His diverse background and training makes him uniquely qualified to lead our Healthy Cooking & Nutrition program.

 

Acupuncture Program

 

Melissa Yee Melissa Yee is a certified acupuncturist. Certification by the state of Hawai‘i requires four years of training and extensive hands-on experience at an approved college of Oriental medicine, and successful completion of the licensure exam. In addition, Melissa received her doctor of acupuncture degree, which entailed an additional year of training. She has been practicing acupuncture for more than 10 years and has more than 17 years of experience with acupressure and bodywork.

 

Naturopathy

 

Monique Yuen Monique Yuen is a naturopathic physician licensed by the state of Hawai‘i and has been in practice for nine years. She is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, an accredited four-year, post-graduate program. She is a member of the Hawai‘i Society of Naturopathic Physicians. She gives talks at Kapi‘olani on menopause, holistic weight management and other women’s health issues.

Breast Health

 

Gordon Ng, M.D. Gordon Ng, M.D. is a board certified radiologist and leads the group of radiologists at the Women’s Center at Pali Momi. He completed his residency at St. Joseph Hospital, NE and his fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, DC.
James Kakuda, M.D. James Kakuda, M.D. is a fellowship trained surgical oncologist (cancer surgeon) with a strong interest in breast cancer. He completed his residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and received his medical degree from UCLA.
Mark Pitts, M.D. Mark Pitts, M.D. is the Director of Pathology at Pali Momi Medical Center. He completed his residency at Tripler Medical Center and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Galen Choy, M.D. Galen Choy, M.D. is board certified in hematology/oncology. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and his fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Vincent Brown, M.D. Vincent Brown, M.D. is board certified in radiation oncology and is one of leading specialists in the field in Hawai‘i. He completed medical school at the University of Florida and his residency at UCSF Medical Center. He practices at The Cancer Center of Hawai‘i and is a member of Pacific Radiation Oncologists, one of the nation’s largest cancer treatment specialty groups.

Susan Tavita Susan Tavita, L.P.N. is responsible for helping patients understand and feel comfortable about their diagnostic breast procedures. She serves as coordinator, guiding and supporting women.
